as usual, i haven't been posting.
but really, i haven’t been doing that great of things.  i mean, nutrition sounds like it could be interesting, it really does.  but we spend a lot of time talking about these: and the things that they eat.  which really isn’t that exciting.  i mean, i guess it is.  because there really is a science to it.  and you have to make sure they’re eating the right proportion of...

today, i had my last anatomy exam
there was a question on comparative bird anatomy.  as in being given a dinosaur fossil, having to identify reptilian and avian traits, and decide if it was a bird or a dinosaur (my professor is a paleontologist).  well thanks to my awesome 6 year old friend Ruby, who I spent countless hours going to the natural history museum and playing dinosaur bingo with when I watched her in NYC, I correctly...

nearly 100% of them are epileptic.  something in their genes.  so next time you find yourself at petco searching for a new pet gerbil, maybe go for a brown one. oh yeah but don’t get a hamster, because they’re mean.

also, chickens are weird.
females only have one function ovary/oviduct, the left one.  and it’s yellow.  if they develop a problem with it, it will atrophy and the right one will grow in.  as a testicle.  so your little hen will then be a little rooster.  oh and only water fowl and flightless birds have a penis - it’s just too much extra weight for the fliers.
